Mistral streaming deletes closing brackets from ordinary text

GitHub issue: https://github.com/sgl-project/sglang/issues/44219

Reproduced

With the mistral tool-call parser, a streamed ordinary reply loses every closing square bracket, while the non-streaming path keeps it.

What Badgr ran

Ran the reporter's snippet on CPU against sglang main at commit 53a24c4 (2026-10-13), no server or model.

What came back

  • Non-streaming: "Use items[0] and the [guide](https://example.com)."
  • Streaming at chunk widths 1, 7 and 50: "Use items[0 and the [guide(https://example.com)." with 0 tool calls.

The streaming output loses both ] characters, which breaks code and Markdown links. CPU only, no GPU spend.

Checked 2026-10-14 in Badgr’s local development environment.
