Gateway fails to start / doctor fails with "native file copy failed (code=EIO)"

The OpenClaw gateway cannot start after a reboot on a ZFS filesystem because a native file copy returns EIO.

Nothing was run: the failure depends on the reporter's ZFS filesystem.

What came back

  • No run attempted.

Not reproducible on the ext4 or overlay filesystems of a rented pod.

Checked 2026-10-11 in Badgr’s local development environment.
