Partial wildcards (e.g. cloudflare/@cf/*) list uncallable ids in /v1/models and /model/info

GitHub issue: https://github.com/BerriAI/litellm/issues/46384

Reproduced

A partial wildcard such as cloudflare/@cf/* lists model ids with the provider prefix doubled, so they cannot be called.

What Badgr ran

Ran the issue's get_known_models_from_wildcard snippet on CPU against the installed litellm 1.104.2 and against LiteLLM source at commit 7ff5010 (the older main used earlier), with the local cost map.

What came back

  • litellm 1.104.2: cloudflare/@cf/* returned 36 ids, 33 with the doubled prefix, for example cloudflare/@cf/cloudflare/@cf/meta/llama-4-scout-17b-16e-instruct.
  • Source at 7ff5010: cloudflare/@cf/* returned an empty list, as the issue says main does.
  • The plain cloudflare/* wildcard returned clean ids on both.

Calling a listed id was not tested because it needs a Cloudflare account. The vertex_ai/gemini-* example in the issue was not confirmed by this check.

Checked 2026-10-14 in Badgr’s local development environment.
