OpenTelemetry callback creates no span for a streaming call the app stops reading

Reproduced

If the application breaks out of a stream early, no trace is created for the request.

What Badgr ran

Ran the issue's mock-transport script on LiteLLM main: one stream read to the end, one abandoned after the first chunk.

What came back

  • Read to the end: 2 spans.
  • Stopped early: 0 spans.

Checked 2026-10-11 in Badgr’s local development environment.
