Reproduced, workaround proven

The reporter wants Director Studio to use an external ComfyUI server over its HTTP API instead of MCP, so the LLM, ComfyUI and app can run on different machines.

What Badgr ran

Launched ComfyUI through Badgr (badgr comfyui run, RTX 4090) and submitted the baseline SDXL workflow to its /prompt API three times in a row, polling /history for each result.

What came back

  • The endpoint reported cuda:0 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 on /system_stats.
  • 3 of 3 API jobs completed with status success in about 6 s each, each producing a PNG.

This shows a remote, API-reachable ComfyUI works on a rented GPU; Director Studio itself was not connected to it. Switching its client from MCP to the ComfyUI API is a change in that project.

Checked 2026-10-14 in Badgr’s local development environment.
